Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate for Certified Adult/Gerontological NPs

The Post MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate for Certified Adult/Gerontological NPs is designed for those nurses who hold the master's degree in Adult and/or Gerontological Nursing, are certified as Adult or Gerontological Nurse Practitioners, and are seeking preparation to practice as a family nurse practitioner. Upon completion of this Post MSN Certificate program, candidates will be eligible to sit for certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.


Admission Requirements

  • Hold an MSN degree in Adult/Gerontological Nursing
  • Hold certification as an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum two to three years recent experience in adult and/or gerontological health care
  • Prerequisite Courses: Advanced Pediatric Assessment and Advanced Pharmacology for Child and Adolescent

Application Deadline

Applications to the Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate for Certified Adult/Gerontological NPs (Post MSN) program are accepted on a rolling basis.

Assistantship/Scholarship Information

Not all departments offer graduate assistantships. Students should inquire with the department directly to determine assistantship availability.
